The photographer made us laugh more than I expected—she kept saying “give me your best movie face!” and honestly, I had no idea what that meant so I just grinned like an idiot. There’s this moment when you’re posing and suddenly you realize how many people have walked this same sidewalk hoping for their big break. The camera clicks felt almost theatrical with all the noise around us—horns, snippets of Spanish, someone arguing about parking meters.
