The experience
Buckman Tavern, built in 1710, is where Captain Parker and the Lexington militia waited in the early morning of April 19, 1775, for the British Redcoats to arrive. You walk through the restored 18th-century taproom and see rotating exhibits inside this National Historic Landmark. The tavern also houses the museum shop if you want to browse history books and artifacts after.
Hancock-Clarke House, built in 1737, is where John Hancock and Samuel Adams were staying when Paul Revere arrived with his warning that same April morning. Guided tours run on the hour and last about an hour. The house also features new exhibitions about the enslaved and indentured Black populations of Lexington in the 18th and 19th centuries. Munroe Tavern, built in 1735, shows the British perspective of the day downstairs (the troops commandeered it on their retreat to Boston), and upstairs tells what it was like for the family whose home was occupied. You can see the room where President Washington dined when he visited in 1789. Both Munroe Tavern and Buckman Tavern let you move through at your own pace.
The Lexington Depot Museum, a restored 19th-century train station, rounds out the pass with exhibits and interactive displays that trace Lexington's story from the Revolutionary era forward. The pass is wheelchair accessible, and service animals are welcome at all four sites.

Buckman Tavern, built in 1710, is where the militia waited before the battle began on April 19, 1775.
