The experience
George and his wife Julia host this class in their home kitchen in Naples. George learned to cook traditional Greek family recipes from his own family members and from professionally trained Greek chefs, and he teaches the same dishes his great-great-great-grandparents made. During the 1.5 hours of hands-on cooking, you'll learn to make three different kinds of salads traditionally served in Greece and the Balkans, then move on to a main course: your choice of pasta with meat sauce and Greek spices, grilled fish, lamb chops, or spinach pie. You chop, fry, cook and assemble the dishes yourself, with George guiding you through the recipes, tips and tricks he's picked up over the years.
After cooking, you sit down together at the table to share the meal you've prepared. The menu includes artichokes in lemon and dill sauce with potatoes and vegetables, a green salad or soup, your chosen main, and yogurt with honey followed by Greek coffee or a cappuccino. George speaks English, Greek and Romanian, so language is not a barrier. This is a 100% private experience (just you, your group and George), and vegetarian options are available if you need them.
You'll choose your timing at checkout: lunch or dinner. The class runs 3 hours total. There's no hotel pickup included, so you'll arrange your own transport to their home in Naples.
