The Experience
The tour picks you up from your Jackson lodging and heads into Grand Teton National Park for eight hours. Your guide—a naturalist trained in the park's ecology and history—will stop at Mormon Row Historic District to explain the settlement's place in the landscape, then move through Jenny Lake, Signal Mountain Summit Road, Oxbow Bend and Jackson Lake. Each stop is a chance to spot wildlife and learn what you're looking at: the guide carries UHD binoculars and spotting scopes so you can see animals at distance without disturbing them.
The route is not fixed. Your guide reads the weather, the road conditions and the season to decide where to spend time and which stops to prioritize. If animals are active in one area, the group lingers there. If a storm is moving in, the guide adjusts. You tell the guide what you came to see—whether that's elk, bears, birds or the geology itself—and they build the day around it. This is why the same tour plays differently on different days.
Lunch and snacks are included, along with bottled water. The vehicle holds a maximum of eight guests, so the group stays small enough that everyone can see out the windows and ask questions without shouting over other people. The minimum age is eight years old.

What animals am I likely to see on a Grand Teton wildlife safari?
The park holds elk, mule deer, bison, pronghorn, and black bears, along with coyotes, beavers and a range of birds. What you see depends on the season, the time of day and where the animals are moving on the day of your tour—your guide will know the recent sightings and position the group accordingly.
How much walking is involved in this tour?
The tour includes stops where you step out of the vehicle to walk short stretches—Jenny Lake Trail and Signal Mountain Summit Road both involve walking—but it is not a hiking tour. The guide structures the day around your fitness level and interests, so you're not forced into terrain you don't want.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The guide adjusts the route based on weather conditions, so rain or snow might change which stops you visit or how long you spend at each one. The tour runs unless conditions make the park roads unsafe; in that case, the operator will reschedule or refund you.
Is the hotel pickup from any Jackson lodging?
Yes, the tour includes pickup and drop-off from your Jackson hotel or lodging. Let the operator know where you're staying when you book.
Do I need to bring binoculars or spotting equipment?
No. UHD binoculars and spotting scopes are provided, so you can see distant wildlife clearly without buying or carrying your own gear.
Can children go on this tour?
Yes, children aged eight and older can join. The guide will tailor the experience to the group, and the small vehicle size means kids can see out the windows easily.
