The experience
Lake Norman, Lake Wylie or MIL gives you a controlled body of water to learn on, and the instructor stays in the water with you the whole time. You start on shore learning how the remote control works and what balance feels like before you ever step on the board. Once you're in the water, the fundamentals come one at a time: how to stand, how to shift your weight, how to work the throttle without overcorrecting. Most people spend their first session getting comfortable with the board moving beneath them and learning to stay upright as it rises.
The efoil itself does the heavy lifting (the electric motor under the board creates the lift that gets you above the water), but staying there depends on your balance and how you read what the board is telling you. Your instructor watches for the moment you're ready to try holding it longer, and they're right there if you lose it. The 2.5-hour window gives you time to fall, get back on, and actually feel the difference between your first attempt and your tenth.
What’s included
Efoil board, USCG life jacket, helmet, live English-speaking instructor in the water with you throughout the session, and ground lesson on remote control operation and balance fundamentals.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (11 to 17 years). Children under 11 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the ground lesson like before I get in the water?
The 15–20 minute ground lesson covers how to operate the remote control and the basics of balance on a moving board. You learn the theory before you step on the efoil, so the water time is spent practicing, not figuring out the controls.
Do I need to know how to swim to take an efoil lesson?
Yes, you need to be able to swim. Efoiling is a physical activity, and you should have at least a moderate level of fitness to handle getting on and off the board and staying balanced in the water.
What happens if I fall off the efoil?
Falling is part of learning. You're wearing a USCG life jacket and helmet, and your instructor is in the water with you. The board floats, so you simply get back on and try again.
How much of the 2.5 hours is actually on the water?
After the 15–20 minute ground lesson, the rest of the session, roughly two hours, is spent in the water practicing with your instructor.
