The experience
What makes an e-foil different from surfing is that you don't need wind, waves or a boat tow. Just the board's electric motor and your balance. The 90-minute session starts on land with a wetsuit fitting (provided as needed), helmet and life jacket, followed by a short ground school where your coach walks you through the equipment and the basics. Then you're in the water, beginning on your stomach to get the feel of the board, moving to your knees, and standing up as you build confidence. The progression is designed so that if you can stand on a paddleboard, you can fly on an e-foil.
Your coach stays with you throughout, offering hands-on guidance as you work the handheld remote that controls the hydrofoil. The SiFly boards you'll use are built to be accessible (the operator notes that eFoiling works for both young and old), but the learning curve is real enough that most people come away surprised at how quickly they pick it up. The sensation of lifting off the water and hovering above it is what keeps people coming back. The operator warns it's addictive.
Guides are available in English and Spanish. A state park day use entrance fee applies depending on which option you choose at checkout.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the minimum age to try an e-foil?
The minimum age is 12 years old. You'll need to be able to swim, kneel, and stand up from a kneeling position.
Do I need to know how to surf or paddleboard before I try this?
No prior experience is required. The coach teaches you from the ground up, starting on your stomach and progressing through kneeling and standing. If you can stand on a paddleboard, you can fly on an e-foil.
What happens if I fall off the board?
You're wearing a life jacket and helmet throughout the session. The board is designed to be stable, and your coach is in the water with you providing hands-on guidance. Falls are part of learning, and the shallow progression (stomach, knees, standing, flying) gives you time to build balance before you lift off.
What's included in the 90-minute session?
The session includes use of the SiFly e-foil board, life jacket, helmet, and wetsuit (provided as needed). Your coach provides instruction and hands-on assistance from start to finish.
Can I do this if I have a physical limitation or health condition?
The activity requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness, the ability to kneel and stand from kneeling, and the ability to swim. It's not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or if you're pregnant. Talk to the operator about your specific situation before booking.
