The experience

You drive your own Polaris ATV through terrain that shifts constantly, from rocky ground to deep sand that few vehicles can cross, then back again through scrub forest to wide-open slickrock. The route descends through layers of the upper Navajo Sandstone, punching through the cliffs in a way that keeps you away from the main Zion National Park crowds. Four hours is enough time to cover real distance and feel the full range of what the landscape throws at you, without eating up your entire day.

Helmets and goggles are mandatory and provided. Your guide carries a cooler of water for the group, though you'll want to bring a small backpack with extra water for any hiking sections. The terrain demands attention but suits all fitness levels. If you're not driving, children from age 5 can ride as passengers. Drivers must be at least 21 and carry a valid driver's license. Anyone 18 or older also needs government-issued ID for the Polaris waiver, whether driving or riding.

What’s included

  • Helmets and goggles for all riders.
  • water provided by the guide in a cooler carried with the group.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What kind of terrain will I be riding on during the four hours?

The route covers rocky ground, deep sand that blocks most vehicles, scrub forest and open slickrock as it descends through the upper Navajo Sandstone cliffs. The landscape shifts between each type, so you're not riding the same surface for long stretches.

Do I need my own ATV or does the tour provide one?

The tour provides Polaris ATVs for you to ride. You operate the vehicle yourself. The guide leads the group and carries water.

Can my child come along if they can't drive yet?

Children as young as 5 can ride as passengers on the ATVs. Only drivers need to be 21 or older with a valid driver's license.

What happens if I damage the ATV?

Renters are responsible for up to $3,000 in damages. Polaris covers anything beyond that. You can reduce your responsibility to $1,500 for an optional $2 fee.

Is this tour inside Zion National Park or somewhere else?

The tour operates in East Zion, outside the main national park, which means fewer crowds while still passing through the same Navajo Sandstone formations and terrain.
