The experience
The tour starts at 901 Sherman Street, on the corner of 9th and Sherman in front of the Archer Tower sign. From there, a guide leads you through the neighborhood on foot, stopping outside each mansion to explain its history and documented hauntings. You're walking the same streets where Denver's former elite lived: the Crawford Hill Mansion, once home to Molly Brown's rival in high society; the Peabody-Whitehead Mansion, featured on the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures and documented to have at least 12 spirits; the Sheedy Mansion, the largest on the tour, where visitors report seeing the "Lady in Red" gliding up the main staircase. The guide shares stories of the people who lived there and the paranormal activity former residents and employees have reported over decades.
Bring your smartphone. The tour is designed around the possibility of capturing evidence: orbs appear in photos regularly, and some visitors have photographed full-body apparitions or shadow people. Paranormal activity is never guaranteed, but the guide will point out locations where it's been most frequently reported and explain what you're looking for. The route includes the Patterson Inn, a Gothic structure that appeared on Jack Osborne's Portals to Hell, and the Molly Brown House, where curtains have been seen moving when the house was empty. You'll also pass the site of a former bohemian hotel that hosted Jack Kerouac and other Beat writers, and a building with mysterious exterior carvings that visitors describe as unsettling. Some sidewalks are uneven and lighting is low in places, so wear shoes with good grip and stay alert to where you're walking.
The tour runs 2 hours over 1.7 miles and operates rain, snow or shine. Bring an umbrella if weather is forecast. There are no restrooms along the route, so plan accordingly. The guide is a live person in English, and all taxes and fees are included. The tour is best suited for ages 9 and up. Some of the stories about the hauntings are intense. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You'll need at least a moderate level of physical fitness for the walking distance and uneven terrain.
What’s included

- all taxes, fees and handling charges.
- access to 11 historic haunted mansions from the street and the guide's paranormal knowledge throughout the 2-hour walk.
