The Experience
The staff member at the front desk of The Escape Game Dedham doesn't hand you a key or a map — she walks you through what's about to happen, answers questions you didn't know you had, and then your game guide takes over. You're standing in one of five different rooms, the door closes, and the clock starts. Sixty minutes. That's how long you have to find clues, solve puzzles, and complete whatever mission the room has set for you. It sounds simple until you're in it.
The five games rotate through different scenarios: Timeliner: Train Through Time has you saving the future; Prison Break is exactly what it sounds like; Gold Rush sends you hunting for hidden treasure; The Depths puts you in a submarine on an underwater mission; The Heist asks you to recover a stolen painting. None of them are dark or scary — they're built to be exciting and solvable, which means you're actually supposed to escape. The room itself isn't some dungeon; it's designed so you can move around, think clearly, and work as a team without feeling trapped. There's an exit button on every door if anyone needs out, and the guide can help if you're stuck, but the puzzle-solving is on you.
The Escape Game Dedham sits at Legacy Place in Dedham, about 25 minutes from Boston, which makes it easy to pair with lunch or dinner — there are restaurants all around the building. Groups can be up to eight people, and the games work for families, friends, or coworkers. Kids as young as 13 are recommended, though younger players can join if an adult is with them. You'll spend about 15 minutes before the game getting briefed on the rules and your mission, then the full 60 minutes in the room, then another 15 minutes after to debrief and take photos. It's not just the puzzle that sticks with you; it's the moment when someone figures out the thing everyone else missed.

What happens if we can't escape in 60 minutes?
You don't have to escape to have done the game. The guide will help you finish the mission or debrief what you solved, and you'll still get the full experience and photos afterward.
Can younger kids play?
Games are recommended for ages 13 and up. Younger children can play if an adult 18 or older is with them, though some puzzle content may be too difficult. Anyone under 18 needs an adult to sign their waiver.
How long does the whole thing take?
Plan for about 90 minutes total: 15 minutes briefing, 60 minutes in the room, and 15 minutes debriefing and photos.
Are the rooms scary or dark?
No. The games are designed to be exciting and adventurous, not frightening. Every door has an exit button, and you can leave at any time.
Can we book a private game or will there be strangers in our room?
If you don't book all eight spots, other players may join your game as part of the same team. If you want a fully private experience, you'd need to book all spots.
Is the location wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are also allowed.
What's included in the price?
Admission to play one escape room adventure of your choice. The guide, briefing, and debrief are all included.
Which game should we choose?
All five games are designed for the same 60-minute format and difficulty level. Choose based on the scenario that appeals to your group — there's no "easiest" or "hardest" option.
