The experience
The experience opens with a meet-and-greet where you hand-feed the alpacas and llamas, feel their soft fleece, and learn from a guide about where these animals come from and how they behave. Alpacas are smaller with fine wool, while llamas are taller and sturdier. The contrast makes the herd easy to tell apart as you move through the group.
After the meet-and-greet, you lead your own alpaca on a guided walk around the field. The setting includes lush greenery and a babbling brook. The walk is paced for families: children must be at least 5 years old to lead an alpaca, though younger children can attend the meet-and-greet portion. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller if needed.
The whole outing runs 90 minutes. A live English-speaking guide is with you throughout. The site is wheelchair accessible, and public transportation options are nearby if you're coming without a car.

Is this one for you?The guided walk requires you to lead an alpaca on foot around the field, so it works best for families with children 5 and older who can handle that task. Younger children can still join for the hand-feeding portion and the company of the herd.
