The experience

The first day stays in Seattle, moving between four distinct stops. Chihuly Garden and Glass shows glass sculpture in a garden setting; the Museum of Flight walks you through aviation and space history; Pike Place Market is where you browse local food and crafts; and Sky View Observatory at Columbia Center gives you the city skyline at dusk: the Space Needle, Ferris Wheel, Puget Sound and downtown towers all visible from one vantage point. You sleep one night in a 3-4 star hotel before heading out the next morning.

Day two is built around Mount Rainier National Park. Your guide drives you from Seattle through the approach, then leads a hike or nature walk into the park itself. The route passes Christine Falls, a waterfall set in dense greenery, and continues to Narada Falls. After the waterfalls, you drive Paradise Road, a mountain route known for alpine meadows and views of the peak. The day ends with the drive back to Seattle and your hotel.

An air-conditioned vehicle and professional guide are with you both days. Admission fees to Chihuly Garden and Glass, the Museum of Flight, and Sky View Observatory are not included and you'll pay those separately at each stop. The tour assumes at least moderate fitness for the hike on day two. The drive itself is scenic but not strenuous.

Is this one for you?The hike on day two requires moderate fitness and a willingness to walk through the park to reach the waterfalls, so it suits travelers who want to move through the landscape rather than view it from the road. If you prefer a full day in the city without the mountain hike, look for a 1-day Seattle-only tour instead.
