You board at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook and set your own priorities with the captain before the boat leaves. Want to snorkel vibrant reefs at Lovango Cay, a private island with an upscale beach club? Head there. Prefer to watch sea turtles feed in the seagrass at Maho Bay, or paddleboard at Honeymoon Beach on St. John's north shore? The route shifts to match. Christmas Cove off St. James Island is another option: calm anchorage and colorful reefs, with Pizza Pi, a floating restaurant, bringing fresh pizza straight to the boat if you want lunch there instead of onboard.
The catamaran is built for comfort: long swim ladders let you slip in and out of the water without strain, nets on the bow for lounging, shade at the stern with cold beer, a marine head and fresh water shower onboard. Snorkel gear is top-of-the-line and included. The boat carries water, soda, beer and floats, and lunch is part of the package: either prepared onboard or at a beachside restaurant, depending on where the day takes you. A captain and crew handle navigation and service throughout.
You choose between a half-day or full-day charter. The full day runs 7 hours and covers more ground and more stops. The half-day is shorter and still lets you hit the main reefs and beaches. Fuel is charged separately at $8 per gallon for actual usage, typically 20–30 gallons per day. Gratuity for the captain (18–20% is customary) is your choice at the end.

Operated by Seas the Day Charters and Tours
Is this one for you?Choose the full-day charter if you want to hit multiple reefs, beaches and coves across St. John and the surrounding islands. The half-day works if you're short on time but still want the snorkeling and the catamaran experience. Either way, the captain steers to the sites your group cares about most, so you're not locked into a fixed route.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can we snorkel with sea turtles on this charter?
Yes. Maho Bay is a regular stop where sea turtles feed in shallow seagrass beds, and you can snorkel right from the boat. The captain can also take you to other reefs depending on conditions and what you want to see that day.
What's included in the price?
The captain's fee, all snorkel gear, bottled water, soda and beer, lunch at a local restaurant or onboard, and use of the boat's amenities: the marine head, fresh water shower and swim ladders. Fuel and gratuity are separate.
How many people can fit on the boat?
Up to 12 passengers, certified by the US Coast Guard. Children count toward the total, so a family of four takes up four spots.
What if we want to visit a specific beach or reef?
You customize the itinerary with the captain on the morning of your charter. Common stops include Lovango Cay, Honeymoon Beach, Maho Bay and Christmas Cove, but the route adjusts to what your group wants to do.
Is snorkel gear provided, or do we bring our own?
Top-of-the-line snorkel gear is included and ready on the boat. You don't need to bring your own.
