The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Dubai or Sharjah hotel in an air-conditioned Land Cruiser. Your driver, a licensed safari professional, takes you to the Red Dunes, where the real experience begins: you climb onto a quad bike and ride it yourself for one hour across the red sand. This is not a guided tour where someone else drives. You control the machine and set your own pace across the desert floor.

After the quad biking, you move to a camel ride, then watch a lineup of live entertainment at the camp: belly dance, fire dance, and Tanura (spinning dervish) performances set to traditional Arabic music. The evening wraps with a BBQ buffet dinner. Henna painting and sandboarding are also part of the experience, so there is activity between the main events rather than downtime waiting for the next thing.

The whole outing runs seven hours from pickup to drop-off. You will need a reasonable level of comfort on a moving vehicle, but the operator notes the experience suits all fitness levels.
