You've got an afternoon free in Dubai and the desert is where the real action is. The safari starts with a 4WD ride across high and extreme dunes: 45 minutes of hard driving that feels nothing like a paved road. The vehicle climbs slopes that look impossible and drops into valleys where the sand shifts under the tires. You stop on top of the highest dunes to watch the sunset, and that's when the light turns the whole landscape red.
