You're picked up from your hotel and driven to the red dunes in a 4x4, where you experience dune bashing, quad biking, sandboarding and camel rides as the sun sets. The Experience

A Land Cruiser pulls up to your Dubai hotel and you climb in — the air conditioning hits different after the city heat. The drive to Lehbab Desert takes you out past the urban sprawl, and then the landscape just opens up. Red sand dunes roll in every direction, nothing else around. Your driver knows the terrain; the vehicle tilts and drops as it crests each ridge, and you feel the shift in your stomach each time.

Once you're out there, you get time on a quad bike if you want it — the engine noise cuts through the quiet desert, and the sand sprays as you lean into the turns. After that comes sandboarding down the dunes, which is harder than it looks and funnier when you wipe out. The sun starts dropping, and the light turns everything gold and orange. You stop for photos; the desert stretches flat and endless in every direction. A camel ride happens next, moving slow across the sand while the sky changes color above you.

The camp appears as the light fades — tents, a stage, tables set up under the stars. Dinner is a buffet with meat and vegetarian options, cooked over a fire. While you eat, there's a belly dancing show, a Tanoura dancer spinning in a tall skirt, a fire performer moving flame across the stage. You get henna painted on your hands if you want it, wear a traditional costume for photos, smoke shisha if that's your thing. Arabic coffee and dates come around. The whole experience runs until late evening, and the hotel pickup back to your hotel is included, so you don't have to think about the drive.
