Parasailing in Dubai is a 10-minute solo or duo flight 50 meters above the water, launching and landing from a specially designed boat moored near the Burj Al Arab. You choose whether to land back on the platform or splash down in the water. The full session runs about an hour and includes a briefing, a 5-minute boat cruise to the launch point, and your flight time. Up to four groups fly during each departure. Children from age 6 can ride duo with an adult. Solo riders must weigh at least 45kg, and the maximum weight per flight is 150kg.

The experience

You arrive at the marina next to the Burj Al Arab, where the captain and his helper brief you on the flight and the boat's setup. The boat is built for parasailing: the engine sits inside the hull rather than hanging outside, and there's a dedicated platform for takeoff and landing. Once everyone in your group is ready, the boat cruises 5 minutes out to position, and the helper calls you forward to get rigged. The flight itself lasts 10 minutes, climbing to 50 meters above the water with unobstructed views of the Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa rising beyond it.

Before you book, decide whether you want to land back on the boat's platform or drop into the water during your flight. Both options are built into the experience, and the boat's design means either way you're not scrambling in or out of the water. If you want photos or video of the flight itself, GoPro footage is available as an add-on. The session wraps when all groups have flown, and you're back at the marina within the hour.

Check in 20 minutes before departure and bring your original Emirates ID or passport. It's required for all participants. The marina has lockers, a changing room, and an open shower, and you get a 25% discount on food and drinks at Lumiere Cafe if you want to eat before or after. WiFi and phone charging are available while you wait.

What happens if I arrive late?

Parasailing is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with poor cardiovascular health. All other fitness levels are welcome. Children must be at least 6 years old and fly duo with an adult.
