The experience
You start in early morning when the desert is quiet and the sun is just rising. The air is fresh and the light is sharp: the best time to ride and the best time for photos. A guide meets you at your hotel and drives you to the desert, where you get briefed on the quad bike and then ride out onto the dunes. For the next hour or two (depending on which option you choose), you operate the bike yourself across high and extreme dunes on powerful machines. The pace is adrenaline-loaded: you climb steep faces, drop into valleys, and stop on top of the highest dune in the desert to take in the scale of it.
After the riding, you move to sandboarding in the fantastic desert scenery: the same dunes you just crossed, now approached on a board. Then comes the camel ride, which the operator calls the "slow-motion experience": a deliberate shift in pace after the intensity of the quad bikes. Picture time is built in so you can capture the morning light and the desert behind you. Water is free throughout the experience.
Wear light, comfortable or sportive clothes and bring sun protection for your skin and head. Do not eat for about two hours before you start, or have a light breakfast like fruit. Bring no luggage or pets. The guide speaks your language and handles all the logistics. You just show up at your hotel ready to ride.
