The experience

The quad bike itself is the draw: a late-model, fully automatic all-terrain vehicle that needs no prior experience to operate. A safety briefing covers how to drive and control the bike, and all protective equipment is provided. Once that's done, you spend 30 minutes navigating the Lehbab Desert's red dunes on your own. The sand stretches endlessly, and you're the one steering through it. The bikes are stable enough that complete beginners ride them the same day they learn, but responsive enough that the ride stays engaging.

The quad biking is the centerpiece, but the evening doesn't stop there. After you're back at camp, a professional driver takes you on a 30- to 35-minute dune bash in a 4x4 Land Cruiser. A separate experience where you're a passenger watching the vehicle tackle steep dunes. You'll also ride a camel, get henna painted on your hands, and have the chance to pose for a photo with a falcon wearing traditional Arabic dress. The camp itself opens with Arabic tea, coffee and sweets when you arrive.

Dinner is a multi-course international buffet with grilled meat and vegetarian options, served while you watch live entertainment: a belly dance performance and a Tanura (spinning skirt) dance show with full lighting and sound. A fire dance follows. Soft drinks and water are unlimited throughout the evening. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Dubai and Sharjah are included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. The whole experience runs about 6 to 7 hours from pickup to return.
