The experience

The tour departs from your hotel in the afternoon in a private 4WD Land Cruiser with your guide and driver. Once in the desert, you spend 20 to 35 minutes dune bashing across the red sand: the vehicle climbs and descends the high dunes while you sit inside. After that rush, the pace shifts: you stop for sandboarding and sunset photography to capture the light before it fades, then drive to the Bedouin camp in the middle of the desert where the rest of the afternoon unfolds.

At camp, activities run in parallel rather than on a schedule. You can take a short camel ride (repeatable if you want another go), get henna painted on your hands, smoke shisha in the designated area, or simply sit and watch. The cultural shows (belly dance, tanura dance and fire performance) happen as the evening settles in. Dinner is a self-service BBQ buffet with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, plus dessert and fruit. Water, soft drinks, tea and coffee are unlimited throughout the day.
