The day starts with pickup from your Dubai hotel and a drive into the Red Dune Desert, where a 4WD takes over and you ride the dunes in and out for the first part of the evening. A stop at the high dune gives you time to photograph the desert sunset before the light goes. The vehicle is air-conditioned and the driver handles all the navigation, so you sit back and watch the landscape change as the sun drops.

At the Bedouin-style camp, the pace shifts. You can try henna painting on your hands, smoke shisha, and dress in traditional Arab costume for photos. The entertainment runs through the evening: belly dance, fire shows and tanura (Egyptian) dance happen on a stage while you settle in. A BBQ and buffet dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options arrives as the performances go on, along with unlimited soft drinks, water, tea and coffee.
