The experience

The day starts with hotel pickup and heads straight into the Arabian desert. You'll ride a quad bike for 30 minutes across the red dunes. This is your time operating the machine, not watching from a seat. The terrain is open and the pace is yours to set within the group, so the adrenaline comes from what you're doing, not from being driven through it.

After the quad bike, the guide takes over and you shift into the 4x4 for dune bashing: the vehicle tackles steep sand slopes while you experience the landscape from a different angle. Sandboarding comes next, then a camel ride that moves at the desert's own pace. By late afternoon you're at the Bedouin-style camp, where the day slows down. The BBQ buffet dinner is served as the sun sets, and live entertainment (belly dancing and Tanoura shows) runs through the evening. Henna tattoos are offered at the camp as well.

The whole experience runs about 6.5 hours from pickup to drop-off.
