The experience

You take command of the quad bike yourself. This is not a tour where someone else drives. The operator picks you up from your hotel or anywhere in Abu Dhabi and takes you to the desert outside the city. Once there, you spend an hour riding across the open landscape, navigating the terrain at your own pace. The guide rides alongside and speaks English or Arabic, so you have support if you need it.

The four-hour experience wraps the riding inside a broader desert day. Between and around the quad time, you try sand boarding and sand skiing on the dunes, take a camel ride, and sit down for dates with Arabic coffee and cold and hot beverages. There is also an Arabic costume photoshoot, so you have images of yourself in traditional dress against the desert backdrop.

The activity is not suitable if you have spinal injuries, are pregnant, or have cardiovascular concerns, but it works for all other fitness levels. Everything (transport, the bike, the guide, the side activities and the refreshments) is included in one price.
