Snorkeling in Turks and Caicos: Private Yacht Charter
You pick what happens on the boat: snorkeling, cliff jumping, conch diving, or just drifting with a drink in hand.
A private half-day yacht charter in Turks and Caicos lets you snorkel, island-hop and visit shipwrecks with a customizable itinerary built around what you want to do. The boat carries French Champagne, beer, rum punch and a full island BBQ with conch fritters and ribs cooked on board. You can add jet skis or a beach massage, or sail to West Caicos, an island most visitors never reach, and jump from the cliffs into the water.

The experience
You arrive at the dock and board a yacht set up for families and groups of any size. The boat is yours for the afternoon: no other passengers, no fixed schedule beyond the four-hour window. A live guide speaks English and Spanish and knows the water, the wrecks and the reefs. What you do with the time is up to you: snorkel the reefs, dive for conch or lobster, visit a shipwreck, or head to West Caicos, where the beaches stay empty because few charters make the trip out there.
Food and drink are built into the day. French Champagne sits on ice for a toast. The bar holds white wine, local and imported beer, sodas and rum punch. The galley serves an island BBQ with kabobs, pork ribs, conch fritters, salad and a fruit platter, or pastries if you leave in the morning. Snorkeling gear is on board and ready. If you want to add jet skis or book a massage on a secluded beach, the crew can arrange it.
West Caicos is the outlier here. Most snorkeling charters stay near the main island. This one can take you to a place most tourists never see, with abandoned sites to explore and cliffs high enough to jump from if you want the adrenaline. The boat has XM radio and moves at your pace: linger at one reef, skip another, or just float and watch the water change color as the afternoon goes.

Is this one for you? This is a private charter, so you're not sharing the boat or the guide's attention with other groups: what you do and where you go is your call. Choose it if you want to snorkel and explore at your own pace without a fixed itinerary, or if you want to reach West Caicos and the shipwrecks that day-trip boats skip.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between snorkeling here and going to a beach with a mask?
A yacht reaches shipwrecks, deeper reefs and West Caicos: islands and sites you cannot access from shore. The boat also carries the gear, the guide and a full meal, so you spend the afternoon in the water and on the boat instead of managing logistics on land.
Can I bring young kids on the snorkeling?
Yes. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller on the boat, and the crew customizes the day around your group. If your kids are not ready to snorkel, the boat visits islands and shipwrecks you can see from the deck or the water's edge.
What happens if I've never snorkeled before?
The guide is there to help, and the equipment is included. You can start in shallow water near the boat and work up to deeper reefs, or skip snorkeling altogether and do island-hopping and cliff jumping instead. The day is whatever you want it to be.
Is West Caicos worth the extra travel time?
West Caicos has abandoned sites, empty beaches and cliff jumps: things you won't find on the main island. Most charters don't go there, so if you want to see a side of Turks and Caicos most visitors miss, it's the reason to ask the crew to head out.
What if the weather turns bad?
The crew monitors conditions and adjusts the itinerary: moving to sheltered reefs, staying closer to shore or rescheduling if the water is unsafe. You'll know before you board whether the day is a go.
