The experience
The tour runs four hours and departs from Providenciales, cruising past Grace Bay Beach on the way out to the outer cays. You'll stop at Iguana Island, the largest iguana reserve in the area, then head to Half Moon Bay: a three-quarter-mile stretch of beach near uninhabited islands. The 42-foot Island Queen has two decks: the sundeck for tanning and relaxing, and an upper deck with views and a slide that drops you straight into the water. An optional detour takes you past a Soviet shipwreck that broke loose in a hurricane, if that interests you.
Snorkeling happens in the reefs where you'll see colorful fish and coral. You can jump from the board or use the slide on the upper deck to cool off between stops. Rum punch made with a local recipe, beer, conch salad and light snacks are included throughout the tour, along with music. Because it's private, you work with the captain to adjust the route and timing to match what you want, whether that means more time at one beach, extra snorkeling, or skipping a stop altogether.
Hotel pickup is included. The tour suits all fitness levels, and public transportation options are nearby if you're arranging your own way to the departure point.
