The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel and heads straight to Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region, where you can see across the whole landscape before dropping into the valleys themselves. Devrent Valley and Pasabag (also called Monks Valley) are the core of the morning: rock formations shaped like animals and the famous fairy chimneys that rise from the ground. Zelve Open-Air Museum is an abandoned settlement carved into the stone, and Fairy Chimneys in Göreme National Park rounds out the geological sights before lunch.

After lunch in Göreme, the tour moves to Avanos, the ceramics town, where you'll visit a pottery workshop and see how local potters work the clay. Çavuşin village is also on the route. The whole day runs about eight hours with a professional English-speaking guide, and hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
