The experience

What separates this from a guided tour is that you're in the saddle the whole time, not watching from a vehicle. The horses are trained Arab breeds used for trail riding and classical disciplines, fitted with professional European saddles: English bridles, jumping saddles, or all-purpose depending on what suits your level. You'll be picked up from your hotel and brought to the ranch, where the guide covers safety, how to handle your horse, and the day's route before you mount.

The ride itself covers countryside where you'll see local village life, forests, and the region's highest peak, Tahtali mountain, rising in the distance. If you're a beginner or riding for the first time, the guide leads your horse and you walk and trot at an easy pace. Adults and experienced riders go alone and can trot and canter if the group splits by level. Children from age six ride with the same setup as adults. A photographer travels with the group and takes pictures of you with your horse. You can buy prints if you like them.

The whole ride takes two hours. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. Helmets are provided. The experience depends on good weather. If it's cancelled, you'll be offered a different date or a full refund.
