The experience
Cemal Ranch operates from one of Cappadocia's top-rated stables, taking small groups away from the main tourist routes into the region's most distinctive landscapes. The four-hour ride threads through Pancarlik and Kepez Valleys, then into the Üzengi Valley, where ancient pigeon homes are carved directly into the rock. You'll pass Byzantine cave churches built into the stone and see the villages that still occupy these valleys, all from horseback rather than from a vehicle window.
The horses are trained for mixed abilities, and the ranch tailors the pace and route to your riding experience, whether you're confident in the saddle or finding your balance for the first time. Safety helmets are provided, and Cemal's presence as your guide means someone who knows these valleys intimately is with you the whole way. Transport picks you up from your hotel, so you don't arrange your own way to the ranch.
Water, soft drinks and a light snack are included partway through the ride. The terrain varies from open ground to narrow valley passages, and the rock formations shift constantly as you move through each section. The fairy chimneys are most striking in certain light, but the landscape itself is the draw regardless of time of day.
What’s included
- All horseback equipment and safety helmets.
- private hotel pickup and return transport.
- four-hour guided ride with an English or Turkish-speaking guide.
- water, soft drinks and a light snack during the ride.
