Uchisar Castle & Devrent Valley tour: 4 Cappadocia stops with guide
Four rock formations and cave sites in one morning or afternoon
A guided tour of four sites north of Cappadocia — Uchisar Castle, Monks Valley, Zelve Open-Air Museum and Devrent Valley — with a professional English-speaking guide, lunch, and air-conditioned vehicle included. The tour runs 7 to 9 hours and suits all fitness levels; pickup is arranged from your hotel.
Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Cappadocia's natural and historic sites
- View spectacular landscape
- Watch master demonstration with history
- Pass by Uchisar Castle
- Visit Pasabag Monks Valley
- Explore Zelve Open-Air Museum
- Discover Devrent Imagination Valley
The Experience
The tour starts with pickup from your accommodation and moves through four distinct landscapes. Uchisar Castle sits on a hilltop with old houses clustered around it and views across the valley — one of three cave castles in Cappadocia and the one with the most authentic settlement still visible. From there you walk into Monks Valley (also called Pasabag), where the rock formations are sharpest and the monks once carved their dwellings into the stone.
Zelve Open-Air Museum was once a school where Christianity was taught to local people, and the carved rooms and passages still hold that atmosphere. A master craftsperson gives a demonstration at one of the stops, with explanation of the traditional techniques and their history. Lunch is included partway through the day.
The final stop is Devrent Valley, known as Imagination Valley for its naturally shaped fairy chimneys. The rock formations here are distinctive enough that you can pick out figures and shapes in the stone — a detail the guide will point out. The guide answers questions throughout and keeps the pace steady without rushing the stops.

What happens at Zelve Open-Air Museum?
Zelve was used as a school to teach Christianity to local people, and you walk through carved rooms and passages that still carry that history. A craftsperson demonstrates traditional techniques with explanation of how they were used.
How long does the tour take and what's included?
The tour runs 7 to 9 hours and includes lunch, transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, and a professional English-speaking guide who explains each site. Hotel pickup is arranged before the tour starts.

The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. You move between sites by vehicle and walk at each stop, but the pace is steady and there's no strenuous climbing required.
