The experience

Seven hours on the water means two separate snorkeling stops on coral reefs with clear water, plus the landmarks most visitors come to see. The boat leaves from Nopparat Thara Pier after pickup from your Krabi hotel (Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Ao Nam Mao, Klong Muang or Tubkaek Beach), picks up more guests at Railay Beach, then heads to Koh Phi Phi Leh. You'll have roughly 50 minutes to walk the beach at Maya Bay (the turquoise shallows sometimes hold black-tip reef sharks) before the crew takes you to Pileh Lagoon, where 100-meter limestone cliffs frame the water and you snorkel the coral on the east side of the island.

The route then passes Viking Cave, where bird's nest soup is harvested, and Monkey Beach, a 150-meter strip on Tonsai Bay where you might spot monkeys at low tide foraging on the shore. Lunch is a Thai buffet at Phi Phi Arida restaurant on Phi Phi Don, with time to walk the island paths afterward. The final stop is Bamboo Island (Koh Pai), a flat, uninhabited speck 5 kilometers off the northern tip of Phi Phi Don, ringed by white sand and a reef that extends 500 meters into the water: the operator describes it as swimming in an aquarium.

The boat carries a maximum of 45 people, and the crew gives a safety briefing before departure. Life jackets are provided and recommended throughout the ride and snorkeling. The tour includes snorkel equipment, drinking water, seasonal fruit and basic accident insurance. Note that Maya Bay closes for two months each August and September. The park also enforces rules against swimming, single-use plastics and drones without permission. Jellyfish can appear year-round in the Andaman Sea, especially during monsoon season (May to October). Ask your guide about conditions on the day.

Operated by Trip Store Krabi

Is this one for you?The tour departs from Krabi with hotel pickup included, so you don't need a car or separate transport to the pier. The boat collects you from your accommodation and returns you at the end of the day. The speed boat's 45-person limit keeps the group smaller than larger tour operators run, and the fixed schedule fits two snorkel stops, Maya Bay, lunch and Bamboo Island into a single morning-to-evening departure.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Thai.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 11 years). Children under 3 can't be included in the booking.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What's the snorkeling like at Pileh Lagoon and Bamboo Island?

Pileh Lagoon sits on the east side of Koh Phi Phi Leh with crystal-clear water and exquisite corals. Bamboo Island is surrounded by a reef that spreads 500 meters from shore, creating the sensation of swimming in an aquarium. Both stops let you explore the marine life with snorkel gear provided by the tour.

Can I actually swim at Maya Bay, or just walk the beach?

Maya Bay rules prohibit swimming in the water, so you walk the white sand beach and can dangle your feet in the shallows for roughly 50 minutes. The turquoise water is visible and sometimes holds black-tip reef sharks in the shallows, but entry is not permitted.

Will I see monkeys on this tour?

Monkey Beach is a pass-by stop, not a landing, so you observe the monkeys from the boat. At low tide you're more likely to spot them foraging on the 150-meter beach. The crew won't stop there, but the sighting is part of the route.

What's included in the lunch, and can I request dietary preferences?

Lunch is a Thai buffet served at Phi Phi Arida restaurant on Phi Phi Don. You should notify the operator of your meal preferences in advance so they can accommodate you.

How much does the national park entrance cost, and is it included?

The Mu Koh Phi Phi Marine Park entrance fee is 400 THB per adult and 200 THB per child. This is not included in the tour price and is paid separately.
