The experience

The boat leaves Phuket at 9:30am after hotel pickup and a tea break at the pier. Your first stop is Lao Lading Island, a small beach ringed by steep cliffs where you swim and take photos before moving to Ao Kar to snorkel. By 11:50am you reach Hong Island Lagoon, where the water is shallow and clear enough to paddle through on a board or in a kayak. Lunch happens on Hong Island's white sand beach, a National Park site where you can walk into the jungle or snorkel again before climbing to the viewpoint for views across Krabi province.

The afternoon takes you to Monkey Island for photos, then to the sand spit at Laem Had Koh Yaw: a narrow strip of white sand with palm trees and small crabs, used as a film location. You finish at Naka Island around 3pm with time to relax on the beach or try water sports (jet ski, banana boat, parasail all cost extra). The boat returns to the pier by 4pm, and you're back at your hotel by around 5pm. The full day runs seven to eight hours from pickup to drop-off.

Mask, snorkel and life jacket are provided. You can also use a paddle board or clear kayak at no extra cost. Bottled water and fresh fruit come with the tour, and accident insurance is included. The guide speaks English, Russian or Thai depending on the group, so check which language your departure uses when you book.

Is this one for you?The guide speaks English, Russian or Thai, so book the departure that matches your language. The full-day pace (seven to eight hours with five stops) suits travelers who want to snorkel multiple reefs and see the islands without rushing, though it means less time at each site than a smaller group tour would give.

Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in English, Russian and Thai.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 10 years); Infant (under 4): free.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.

What's the snorkeling like at Ao Kar and Hong Island?

Ao Kar has crystal-clear water where you snorkel among coral and fish. Hong Island offers snorkeling on the beach and in the lagoon, where the water is shallow and calm enough for beginners. Both are National Park sites.

How much time do we actually spend snorkeling versus traveling between islands?

You snorkel at two main stops (Ao Kar and Hong Island) with time to swim at Lao Lading as well. The boat moves between islands, so expect roughly half the day in the water and half traveling and eating.

Can I bring my own snorkel gear, or do I have to use theirs?

Mask and snorkel are provided and included in the price. You can bring your own if you prefer, but there's no discount for not using the tour's equipment.

What's included in the price, and what costs extra?

Included are hotel pickup, lunch, bottled water, fruit, mask and snorkel, life jacket, paddle board and clear kayak, and accident insurance. Jet ski, banana boat and parasail at Naka Island are extra.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer to join this tour?

The tour is suitable for all fitness levels. You wear a life jacket, and the snorkeling spots, especially Hong Island Lagoon, have calm, shallow water. Infants can join if they sit on an adult's lap.
