The experience

You're picked up from your Phuket hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning, then driven to the pier for a 9:30 departure. The speedboat carries you across to Lao Lading island first, a small beach hemmed in by steep cliffs where you swim and take photos before moving on to Ao Kar to snorkel in the clear water. Bird's Nest Cave sits nearby for sightseeing. By 11:50 you're at Hong Island Lagoon, a national park with a long white-sand beach where lunch is served. After eating, you can snorkel again, walk into the jungle, or climb to the viewpoint for a view across the Krabi province. The boat then stops at Monkey Island for photos and continues to the border gate between Phang Nga and Krabi provinces: a photo spot marking where the two provinces meet.

Around 2:00 pm you reach Laem Had Koh Yaw, a sand spit with white sand and palm trees that has appeared in films. You walk it and spot crabs. By 3:00 pm the boat arrives at Naka Island, where you can relax on the beach or book jet skiing, banana boating or parasailing as add-ons. The return to the pier happens at 4:00 pm. Mask, snorkel, life jacket, paddle board and clear kayak are provided. Lunch, bottled water and fruit are included. Your guide speaks English throughout.

Is this one for you?The seven to eight hour commitment means you leave your hotel early and return by late afternoon, leaving the evening free. If you're based in Phuket and have one full day to spend on the water, this tour stacks five islands and two snorkeling stops into a single itinerary. If you prefer a shorter outing or want to explore just one or two islands slowly, a half-day alternative would suit you better.

Top questions

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 10 years); Infant (under 4): free.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What's the snorkeling like at Ao Kar and Hong Island Lagoon?

Ao Kar is known for clear water where you snorkel in the morning. Hong Island Lagoon, a national park, offers another snorkeling window after lunch. Both stops give you time in the water, though the exact marine life and visibility depend on the season and conditions on the day you go.

How much time do I actually spend in the water versus traveling between islands?

The itinerary builds in snorkeling time at Ao Kar and Hong Island, plus time to swim at Lao Lading beach. The boat moves between stops throughout the day, so you're splitting your seven to eight hours between travel, snorkeling, lunch, and beach time at each island.

Is the hotel pickup really included, or does it cost extra?

Hotel pickup from Phuket is included in the tour price. You'll be collected between 7:30 and 8:00 am and driven to the pier for the 9:30 departure.

Can I do jet skiing or banana boating, or are those really extra?

Jet skiing, banana boating and parasailing are available at Naka Island at the end of the day, but they cost extra and are optional. You can relax on the beach instead if you prefer.

What equipment do I need to bring, or is it all provided?

Mask, snorkel, life jacket, paddle board and clear kayak are all provided. Bring sunscreen, a towel, a change of clothes and any personal medications. The boat supplies bottled water and fruit throughout the day.

How does the sand spit at Laem Had Koh Yaw work? Is it a stop where we get off the boat?

Yes, the boat stops at Laem Had Koh Yaw around 2:00 pm and you walk along the sand spit. It's a narrow strip of white sand between water, lined with palm trees and small crabs, and it's a photo stop rather than a swimming spot.
