The experience

The day starts at two coastal viewpoints (Karon Viewpoint and Phromthep Cape), where the Andaman Sea spreads below you and the light is sharpest for photographs. From there, the route climbs to Big Buddha, Phuket's highest peak, which gives a 360-degree view of the island. The guide is with you at each stop, speaking English, and the air-conditioned vehicle waits between them.

After the viewpoints comes Wat Chalong, an 80-year-old temple that is Phuket's most revered spiritual site. The temple entrance fee is included, and the guide explains what you are standing in front of. Then the tour moves to Tiger Park, where you walk among the animals in a green space near the mountain. The time there is flexible, so you set how long you stay.
