You have a free morning in Phuket and want to move without a car. The ride starts at 9am at the bike shop in Boat Avenue Laguna, where the guide fits you to a Canyon road bike and you set out on rural roads that run flat and easy across the island. The route passes rubber tree plantations, oil palms and pineapple fields—the working landscape most tours skip—and the roads themselves are the point: smooth asphalt, quiet, built for cycling rather than traffic.

The ride crosses from the east coast near Bangtao Beach and the Laguna Golf Course toward the west, where Laem Sai Pier sits on the water with a panoramic view across Phang Nga Bay. You stop there for a coffee break and photos before turning back. The whole loop is 50 km and takes about three and a half hours, which means you're back by early afternoon. Your guide speaks English and rides with you; you carry a sport bottle and get isotonic drinks, water, cake or cupcakes at the break.

The terrain is flat throughout—no climbing—and the pace is steady rather than racing. Road bike rental with helmet, travel insurance, and the guide are all included. You'll need a moderate level of fitness for the distance and the morning heat, and the tour is open to children from age 12 onward.
