The experience

You start at the welcome camp with a safety briefing and practice on an easy track supervised by your guide, so you get comfortable with the bike before heading out. Then the first hour takes you through dirt and muddy trails, past rubber plantations and palm gardens, and into a dense mangrove forest where you might spot insects and plants you've never seen. A short break with cold drinks and fruit sits between the two riding blocks.

The second hour is where the terrain gets serious. You ride through thick rainforest with climbs and descents, along mangrove swamps where monitor lizards and monkeys sometimes appear, and your guide picks the track based on your ability and confidence. The bike stays yours the whole time. You're not watching from a passenger seat. Back at camp, you get fresh fruit and cold beverages before the drive back to your hotel.

Pickup happens from Kata, Karon, Patong, Kamala, Surin, Bangtao or Laguna beach hotels. If you're staying elsewhere in Phuket, a surcharge applies. You'll get your exact departure time when you confirm the booking. Protective gear (helmet, gloves, rain coat if needed) and insurance are included, though damage to the ATV itself isn't covered.
