You spend three days learning to dive in a controlled pool, then making four ocean dives with a certified instructor. The course includes all equipment, transport, and e-learning materials. You leave with a worldwide-recognized PADI certification and the actual experience to back it up.
The air bubbles rise in slow, deliberate columns through the 2-3 metre pool at the dive center in Bophut, and that's where the Open Water certification actually begins. Most people think diving starts in the ocean, but here it doesn't — it starts in controlled water where you can stand up, signal your instructor, and practice the skills that keep you safe when you're 12 metres down with nothing but reef below. The course runs three days, and the first part happens entirely in the pool, with an instructor in the water beside you the whole time, teaching you how to breathe underwater, clear your mask, and handle the small emergencies that never happen but need to be second nature if they do.
On day two or three, depending on how the schedule falls, you move to the ocean. The dive center takes groups to some of the best sites around Samui or over to Koh Tao if conditions are better, and you make four open water dives with your instructor right there. The group stays small — never more than four students per instructor — which means you're not fighting for attention or waiting around while someone else gets help. You get the e-learning materials beforehand so the classroom sessions move faster, and the instructors speak multiple languages, so the technical stuff doesn't get lost in translation. By the end of day three, you hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification that works anywhere in the world, and you're not just certified on paper — you've actually done the dives.
The dive center provides all the equipment, and an air-conditioned vehicle picks you up and brings you back, so you're not figuring out songthaews or taxis with wet gear. The course accepts divers from age 10 up, though you need moderate fitness — the physical demand isn't extreme, but it's real. If you want a private instructor instead of a group, you can request that too, and the whole thing becomes yours alone.
Your three days include all SCUBA equipment, use of the dive center's 2-3 metre training pool, e-learning materials, classroom sessions, four open water dives at Samui or Koh Tao sites, an instructor in the water with you throughout, and air-conditioned transport to and from the dive center and ocean sites.

Is this one for you?Right for anyone 10 or older who wants to learn diving properly before committing to a lifetime of it. The pool training means you're not panicking in the ocean on day one — you've already practiced underwater, which is what makes the four ocean dives feel like the natural next step instead of a shock.
