The experience

The day starts at the office with breakfast snacks, tea and coffee before you board at Royal Phuket Marina. A five-star facility where you'll see the yachts lined up before heading into the Andaman Sea. The first stop is Koh Hong, roughly 40 minutes by boat, where you swim in a small bay ringed by white sand and dramatic rock formations. From there you move to Chicken Island for snorkeling. The site stays quiet even mid-morning because most tours arrive later, and the tropical fish here are abundant. The rock formation at the island's edge actually does resemble a giant chicken, and it's the kind of detail that makes the moment stick.

Railay Beach is the centerpiece. A postcard-worthy stretch where you'll have time to walk the sand, swim in clear water, or simply photograph the cave that overhangs the beach. Lunch follows at Pyramid, a quiet seaside restaurant on Koh Yao Yai with views across the islands. The menu includes spring rolls, fried chicken wrapped in pandanus leaf, cashew chicken, sautéed vegetables, green curry and fried fish with sweet chili. On the return to Phuket, you stop at Coconut Cape for 40 minutes to rest, eat fresh fruit and snacks, and let the day settle before heading back to the marina.

The boat has a restroom on board, WiFi, and a guide who speaks English or Thai. Water, soft drinks, coffee and tea flow throughout the day. The eight-hour window is tight enough that you're moving between stops without long gaps, but loose enough that you're not rushed at any single island.

Is this one for you?Small groups and an early departure mean you'll find Chicken Island quiet at 10 a.m. when larger tours are still en route, so this suits anyone who wants to snorkel without the crowds. The eight-hour day is full but not rushed. You're moving between islands without long waits, which works well if you want to see multiple stops without feeling hurried at any one of them.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Thai.

How far is Koh Hong from the starting point at Royal Phuket Marina?

Koh Hong is approximately 40 minutes by speedboat from Royal Phuket Marina. It's the first stop after you leave the marina, and you'll swim in the small bay there before moving on to the other islands.

What will I snorkel at Chicken Island, and how crowded does it get?

Chicken Island has abundant tropical fish and interesting rock formations, including one that resembles a giant chicken at the island's edge. Because this tour departs early and keeps group sizes small, the site is typically quiet even at 10 a.m., with mostly long-tail boats for company rather than crowds.

What's included in the lunch at Pyramid restaurant?

Lunch at Pyramid includes spring rolls, fried chicken wrapped in pandanus leaf, fried chicken with cashew nuts and dried chili, sautéed seasonal vegetables, green curry chicken with jungle peas, and fried fish with sweet chili sauce. The restaurant overlooks the islands from Koh Yao Yai.

Does the speedboat have facilities on board?

Yes, the speedboat has a restroom on board, WiFi, and a full supply of water, soft drinks, coffee and tea throughout the day. Breakfast snacks are served at the office before departure, and fresh fruit and snacks are provided again at Coconut Cape on the return journey.

What happens at Railay Beach, and how much time do I spend there?

At Railay Beach you'll have roughly half an hour to stroll the sand, swim in the crystal-clear water, or take photographs. The beach is one of the most memorable stops on the tour, with a massive cave overhanging the western shore.

Is the tour suitable for children, and what's the pricing for additional guests?

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and infants sit on an adult's lap. The quoted price covers two adults only. Each additional adult costs 2,000 baht and each child aged 4 to 12 costs 1,500 baht.
