The experience
Mountain biking here means you leave the main road behind. A regular bus tour speeds past local communities. On a bike you actually stop and meet people at small farming and fishing villages. The dirt tracks and fire trails take you miles inland where the landscape shifts from misty hills to limestone cliffs and coastline. The bike itself (a 24-gear mountain bike with front suspension) handles both paved roads and unpaved terrain, so you're not locked into a single surface.
The five itineraries let you pick the distance and what you want to see. The half-day routes run 19 to 27 kilometers and take around four hours with hotel pickup and transfer back. The full-day options stretch to 56 kilometers and run closer to seven hours. The Emerald Pool jungle route includes a swim in the natural pool and time soaking in Krabi Hot Spring afterward. The Koh Klang tour crosses the river by longtail boat before you cycle the island's gentle trails past Muslim villages. The waterfall ride climbs toward rubber and palm oil plantations before dropping down to Huay Tho Waterfall. Every route includes a professional guide who speaks English, a helmet, gloves, drinking water, fresh fruit and a cold towel to refresh afterward.
Lunch is included only on the full-day tours, eaten at a local restaurant. The operator provides basic accident insurance and a first aid kit. National Park entrance fees are covered. Children can join from age 10 with a minimum height of 140 cm and prior road cycling experience. The operator notes the tour is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy or poor cardiovascular health, though it suits all fitness levels otherwise. The program can shift due to weather, and during high season (mid-December through mid-March) cancellations need 48 hours' notice to avoid fees.
