A full-day diving activity from Ko Lanta for certified divers, departing at 8am aboard a luxury boat to two dive sites: Koh Haa during high season or the Bida Islands near Koh Phi Phi in low season. You complete a dive briefing with your guide, gear up and descend at each site, then return to the island by mid-afternoon. Breakfast, lunch, all scuba equipment, snacks and refreshments are included throughout the day. An optional third dive is available for additional cost.

The experience

The boat leaves at 8am, and you'll be picked up from your resort on Ko Lanta beforehand. Breakfast and a dive briefing happen on the water before you enter the first site. Two dives are the standard. Depending on conditions and your energy, a third dive is offered as an optional add-on. Between dives you eat lunch on deck, and if you skip the third dive you can snorkel around the site or simply rest on the boat.

Koh Haa, five limestone islands clustered together, is the destination during high season (October 15 to May 15), known for dense marine life and reef formations. In low season the boat heads to the Bida Islands near Koh Phi Phi instead. Your guide briefs you on what to expect at each site and stays with your group underwater. Fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and unlimited light refreshments are available throughout the day, and you'll be back on land by 3pm or 4pm.

You need to be a certified diver (PADI Open Water or equivalent), and to have dived within the last year. The minimum age is 10, though younger children can come along if they sit on an adult's lap and don't dive. The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular issues or pregnancy. Diving within 48 hours of flying is not advised.
