You zipline across 24 platforms through jungle canopy near Chiang Mai, then visit a Karen Long Neck village and swim at a mineral-rich waterfall. The tour is private, includes all equipment and lunch, and runs the full day with hotel pickup. Book ahead if you're going on a Tuesday — the zipline switches to a jungle coaster that day.

Zipline, Village visit, and waterfall swim

  • Zipline at Phoenix Adventure Park
  • Visit Karen Long Neck Tribe Village
  • Climb and swim at Sticky Waterfall

The Experience

The zipline at Phoenix Adventure Park in Mae Rim spreads across 24 platforms strung through jungle canopy, and the longest line runs 200 meters — long enough that you feel the speed, short enough that you're not terrified. The whole experience takes about an hour, and it includes tree abseiling and a canopy walk on top of the zipping itself. The platforms vary in height and distance, so there's a rhythm to it: clip in, step off, glide, land, catch your breath, move to the next one. All the safety gear comes with the tour, and the instructors watch you the whole time.

After you come down from the canopy, the day shifts. You drive to a Karen Long Neck Tribe village in the hills outside Chiang Mai, where families live much as they have for generations — the women wear brass coils around their necks, and the village itself feels less like a museum and more like a place where people actually live and work. Then you head to the Sticky Waterfall, which gets its name from the mineral deposits on the rocks; the surface is textured enough that you can climb it barefoot without slipping, and there's a pool at the base where you can swim. It's a strange, quiet place after the noise of the zipline.

The whole day is private, which means no waiting for a group to assemble and no strangers in your vehicle — just you, your guide, and the driver. Lunch is included, and so are all the entry fees. If you book on a Tuesday, the zipline switches to a Jungle Coaster at Pongyang instead, so the itinerary shifts slightly but the day stays full. There's an optional ATV ride through the jungle if you want more adrenaline, though you'd pay the guide directly for that — 750 baht for 30 minutes, 1,200 for an hour.

The weight limit is 120 kilograms, and you need to be between 5 and 70 years old. No alcohol or drugs before you go up. Those rules exist because the platforms are real and the harnesses have to fit properly, so take them seriously when you're getting dressed that morning.
