Step-by-step itinerary

Explore forest, culture, beach, and ocean

  • Visit Jozani forest and see monkeys
  • Explore Kuza cave and culture center
  • Relax on Paje beach
  • Enjoy seafood lunch at The Rock restaurant
  • Snorkel and swim with starfish at Coral garden

The experience

The day starts at Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, where red colobus monkeys (a rare species found only in Zanzibar) move through the mangrove and mahogany forest canopy. The park also holds blue monkeys, elephant shrews and bushbabies. From there you move to Kuza cave, a cultural center where local artifacts and a timeline of Swahili history are on display, grounding the island's past in the rock itself.

Paje beach comes next: white sand, calm waves, and the kind of serenity that makes the name stick. After that, you reach the coral garden where snorkeling equipment is ready and starfish drift in the clear Indian Ocean water. You swim among them in their natural environment. Lunch arrives at Rock restaurant, built into the ocean itself, with panoramic views across the water that frame the meal.

A live guide in English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language leads the full route. Private transportation picks you up and carries the group through all five stops, with bottled water on hand throughout the day. Snorkeling gear is provided, and all entrance fees and taxes are already factored in.

What’s included

  • Private transportation to all five stops.
  • bottled water throughout the day.
  • snorkeling equipment at the coral garden.
  • all entrance fees and taxes.
