The experience
The morning departure matters here: dolphins are most active early, and your guide will position the boat to give them space so you can watch them in their natural habitat, though sightings are never guaranteed. The reef itself is large enough that even on busy days you won't feel crowded while you're underwater. You'll see yellow snapper, barracuda, turtles and rays among the coral, and the snorkel gear is provided.
After you surface, the boat stops on a sandbank where you'll have a snack break with seasonal fresh fruit and small bites while the sun dries you off. On the return, you'll pass Matemwe fishing village and watch local fishermen selling their catch before heading back to shore. A seafood lunch at a restaurant near the village rounds out the day before your transfer back to the hotel.
The whole outing runs about six hours from pickup to drop-off. You're on a private boat, so it's just your group: no strangers sharing the space or the dolphins if they appear. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language, and children from age one are welcome aboard.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Six hours is enough for the full reef and dolphin experience without eating up your whole day, leaving time for other activities before or after. The private boat means your group has the space and attention of the guide, which matters when dolphins are unpredictable and you want the best chance to see them comfortably.
