The Experience

The tour starts on an air-conditioned coach where your guide begins narrating as you roll down Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world's most expensive shopping streets, then past the Opera House and through the university quarter lined with stately mansions. You'll see the Swiss National Museum, the financial district, and the elegant Zürichberg neighborhood before the coach brings you to the Old Town. There you walk through medieval streets on foot, stopping to look at the guild houses, churches, and the Fraumünster with its Marc Chagall stained-glass windows, plus the Town Hall.

After the Old Town, you board a boat for a half-hour cruise on Lake Zurich. From the water you see the Limmat River, historic bridges, and views toward the snow-capped Alps. The boat brings you to the Lindt Home of Chocolate, a modern building designed by Swiss architects Christ & Gantenbein. Inside, an audio guide takes you through the chocolate museum's history from bean to bar, and then you taste unlimited chocolate.
