The experience

The guide picks you up directly at your Zermatt hotel or at a rental bike shop, then you decide together which route fits your group best. From there, the Sunnegga funicular carries you uphill without effort, and you start riding in a glacier valley where the terrain is mostly downhill. The loop passes four alpine lakes (Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grunsee, and Moosjisee) each one framed by the Matterhorn in the distance.

The ride concludes with a fun descent back to Zermatt town on a flow trail, the kind of trail built for smooth, rolling momentum rather than technical climbing. Because the guide tailors the route to your group, you might tackle advanced technical singletrack, stick to easier terrain with big views, or find something in between. The whole experience runs about three hours from start to finish.

Bike rentals are not included, though the operator can help arrange them. Lift tickets to Sunnegga are also separate. You'll need your own bike or one rented beforehand.
