The experience

What happens first: you meet your pilot at the booking office near the cable car station in Davos Platz. You'll drop your baggage there, and the office lends you stable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (skiing-like layers in winter, hiking-like gear in summer), so you don't need to bring specialized equipment. Then you take the cable car up the mountain with your pilot, followed by a 10 to 20 minute hike to the launch site.

Your pilot sets up the glider and walks you through the takeoff. The actual launch takes just a few running steps before you're airborne. Once in the air, you're sitting comfortably in front of your pilot in a seated position: no free fall, no engine noise, just the sensation of gliding. If you want more involvement, your pilot can show you how to steer the glider or perform freestyle maneuvers. If you prefer to simply experience the flight, that's fine too. The landing happens close to where you started, again with a short run.

The four hours reserved covers the full experience: the cable car, the hike up, setup, your flight time, and the descent.
