You’ll glide silently above Davos with a pro pilot, taking in epic Alpine views without any engine noise or scary drops. It’s easy to join—no experience needed—and you can even try steering if you’re feeling brave.
The first thing I noticed at the cable car station in Davos Platz was the crisp mountain air—kind of sharp on your cheeks, even in summer. Our pilot greeted us right by the ticket window, easy to spot with his windbreaker and relaxed grin. We grabbed our passes and hopped onto the cable car, gliding up above pine forests and rooftops that looked like tiny toys from up high.
After stepping out at Jakobshorn’s upper station, there’s a short hike—maybe 15 minutes if you’re not rushing. The ground crunches under your boots, and you can hear cowbells somewhere off to the side. At the launch site, our pilot laid out the glider while chatting about wind patterns and how paragliding here is different from other places because of the valley’s shape. He explained takeoff: “Just keep walking forward until your feet leave the ground.” Simple enough, but my heart was thumping.
The moment we ran those last few steps and lifted off—wow. No engine noise, just a soft whoosh as we caught the air. You sit snug in front of your pilot; it feels safe but wild at the same time. If you want, they’ll let you steer for a bit or do some spins (I tried steering—honestly, it’s easier than it looks). The flight lasts anywhere from 15 to 35 minutes depending on wind; ours was closer to half an hour with a few gentle turns over Davos itself. Landing is smooth—a couple of running steps and you’re back on solid ground near where you started.
Nope! Your pilot handles everything and explains what to do before takeoff.
The full experience takes about two hours including meeting up, riding the cable car, hiking to launch, flying (15–35 min), and landing.
Dress like you would for hiking or skiing—layers are best since it can get chilly up top.
Children under 12 can only join on request; ask us before booking for younger flyers.
Your personal tandem paragliding pilot is included, plus extra clothes if needed (think ski gear in winter or hiking layers in summer). Just bring sturdy shoes and your sense of adventure!
