The experience
The flight launches from Jakobshorn mountain in the early morning when thermal conditions are most stable. You're harnessed to a FOCA licensed tandem pilot who handles the wing and the landing. Your job is to step into the harness, run a few steps as the paraglider inflates overhead, and then trust the air. The altitude difference between launch and landing is roughly 1,000 meters, which means you're descending through the whole flight while the alpine scenery stays level with you or rises as you sink.
Everything you need to fly is provided: the paraglider, harness, helmet and any clothing gaps you need to fill (good shoes, jacket and gloves matter in mountain air). The flight itself runs about two hours from the moment you leave the ground. A photographer or videographer captures the flight, so you get both stills and video to keep afterward. Public transportation reaches the mountain. The cable car ticket is separate and available at a reduction if you hold a guest card.
What’s included
- All paragliding equipment including the wing, harness and helmet.
- a FOCA licensed tandem pilot for the entire flight.
- professional photos and video of your flight.
- any additional clothing you need (shoes, jacket, gloves provided if necessary).

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and German.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Do I need paragliding experience to do this?
No. Tandem paragliding means you fly with a licensed pilot who manages the equipment and the flight. You don't need prior experience or training. The pilot handles takeoff, navigation and landing while you experience the flight itself.
What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Early morning conditions in the Alps are usually stable, which is why this flight departs at dawn. If conditions aren't suitable on the day you're booked, the operator will reschedule you for another morning or offer an alternative.
How do I get to Jakobshorn if I don't have a car?
Public transportation serves the mountain. The cable car runs to the launch point. You can buy a ticket on arrival, and guest card holders receive a reduction on the fare.
Will I actually see the photos and video, or do they arrive later?
Photos and video are included in the flight and provided to you after landing, so you have them the same day to review and share.
What fitness level do I need?
Moderate fitness is required. The takeoff involves a short run as the paraglider inflates, and you need to be comfortable with the physical sensation of flight and landing. The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or pregnancy.
