The experience
You start at Lucerne's Bus Parking Landenberg near the railway station and travel by coach through the Bernese Oberland to Grindelwald, with a brief stop in Interlaken. Once in Grindelwald, a cable car takes you up Mt. First, where the main event is the First Cliff Walk by Tissot: a suspended walkway that crosses high above the valley floor. The platform itself, called "First View," gives you the panoramic alpine views most people come for, and from there you can hike to Bachalpsee Lake, which reflects the surrounding peaks like a mirror when conditions are right.
The First Flyer zipline is the headline optional activity: it launches you across the mountainside on a single cable. The Mountain Cart (a gravity-powered descent vehicle) and Trottibike scooter ride are also available, each priced from CHF 25 per activity. These are subject to weather and availability, and slots cannot be reserved in advance. You book them on the day if the conditions allow and the queue is manageable. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the Berggasthaus First terrace, though you'll want to bring cash or be ready to pay out of pocket.
After the morning and early afternoon on Mt. First, the coach takes you down to Lauterbrunnen, a valley famous for its 72 waterfalls. You get free time to walk through the village and see Staubbach Falls, Switzerland's third-highest waterfall, which drops straight down the cliff face. The return drive to Lucerne closes the day. The whole tour runs about 10 hours, and your guide speaks either English or Spanish depending on which option you book.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 15 years); Infant (under 6): free.
Can I do the First Flyer zipline if I've never zipped before?
The First Flyer is available to anyone with moderate fitness, but it is optional and subject to weather. Slots are not pre-bookable, so you decide on arrival whether to try it. Long waits can happen, and availability is not guaranteed. The operator charges CHF 25 or more per activity.
What is the First Cliff Walk by Tissot?
The First Cliff Walk is a suspended walkway that crosses the mountainside on Mt. First, giving you the sensation of walking out over the valley. It is included in the tour and is the main attraction at the summit, along with the "First View" platform where most people stop for photos and views.
Do I need to arrange my own transport from Lucerne?
No. The tour includes round-trip coach transport from Lucerne's Bus Parking Landenberg, near the railway station, and all travel between stops in Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Lauterbrunnen. Hotel pickup is not included.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
The cable car to Mt. First and the cliff walk may close in poor weather or high winds. Optional activities like the First Flyer are especially weather-dependent and may not operate. The tour can also run in reverse order (visiting Lauterbrunnen first, then Grindelwald) without prior notice, depending on conditions and logistics.
Is lunch included?
No. Food and drinks are available for purchase at stops, including the Berggasthaus First terrace on Mt. First. You can bring your own snacks or buy at the venues during free time in Lauterbrunnen.
How long does the tour take?
The full day is about 10 hours from departure in Lucerne to return. Most of the morning and early afternoon is spent on Mt. First and the surrounding hikes. The afternoon includes the coach ride to Lauterbrunnen and free time there before the return journey.
