You'll spend your first 20 minutes learning to balance on a Segway at the Adventure Cafe, then ride past Stockholm City Hall, Riddarholm Church, the Old Town, and out to Djurgården and Södermalm. The guide covers Stockholm's history as you move, and you cover far more ground than walking would allow in the same time. Helmets, ponchos and an experienced guide are included; arrive 15 minutes early to check in.

The Experience

The first surprise is how quickly you find your balance on a Segway. You show up at the Adventure Cafe, get fitted with a helmet, and spend the opening 10 to 20 minutes just learning the lean-and-go motion in a small space. It feels wobbly at first, but then something clicks — your body figures out the weight shift, and suddenly you're gliding. After that, the Stockholm Segway tour opens up in a way walking never would.

From there you move past the imposing City Hall, its red-brick tower rising above the waterfront, and then toward Riddarholm Church, one of Stockholm's oldest buildings. The guide talks about the city's history as you roll through, and you're covering ground fast enough to see the whole arc of the place — from medieval stone to modern waterfront — without the exhaustion of a full day on foot. Skeppsholmen, the ship island, comes next, and then you swing around the Old Town's narrow streets before heading toward Södermalm, where the views open up across the water.

The route finishes in Djurgården, the first national city park in the world, which is a strange and lovely detail to learn while gliding through it. The whole thing takes a few hours, and you cover neighborhoods that would take half a day to walk. Weather doesn't stop it — they hand out rain ponchos on a first-come basis if you need one, and the tour runs regardless. Just arrive 15 minutes early so you don't miss the training window, and bring layers if it's cold.
