From there, the route unfolds through Stockholm's Old Town, stopping at landmarks that anchor Swedish Christmas tradition: the German Church, where your guide explains how Swedes mark the season; a traditional candy shop from the 1800s where you taste the sweet and sour candies still made there; and Kungsträdgården, where the tour closes with mulled wine and gingerbread cookies. Seven tasting portions of Swedish Christmas food and drinks are woven through the walk, so you are never just passing through—you are tasting as you go.

The route also passes the Moose Family outdoor installation, a Nordic-themed light display that guides the way toward the North Pole and Santa Claus. Your guide talks through the history of Sweden's tallest natural Christmas tree and the kinds of decorations that appear in most Swedish homes during the season. If you book the afternoon departure, the Christmas lights around the city will be turned on (they start around 3 pm as of mid-November); the morning tour means you see the installations but not the full light display. The Old Town Christmas market itself is only open from late November through December 23, though your guide can direct you to other markets if you join before the season officially opens.

The group stays small—maximum 10 people—so the pace stays manageable and the guide can answer questions as you move.
