The Experience

The tour starts at the warehouse in Pointe Blanche, five minutes from the cruise terminal where you get picked up. You'll ride your own ATV or buggy — the choice is yours at booking — with your group in a single vehicle, following the guide across the island. The first stop is Cole Bay Hill for a view of Simpson Bay, then across the causeway bridge to Maho Beach to watch planes land as they approach the runway.

From there the route moves through Cupecoy Beach, where caves and tide pools sit in the sand, then to Baie Rouge, one of the island's most upscale beaches, and David's Hole, an 80-foot sinkhole. You'll head into Marigot, the French side's capital, where there's time to shop or grab a pastry. The route then turns to off-road trails climbing to Pic Paradis, the highest point on Sint Maarten, with panoramic views across the water. After six hours of riding, you stop for lunch (your cost), then continue to Anse Marcel, one of the quieter beaches, before a walk on Moses Walk and the return to the warehouse.

The guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on your booking. If operating the ATV or buggy yourself isn't what you want, you can request the guide drive while you ride as a passenger. The vehicles are maintained and designed to be straightforward to use, and the whole group stays together in one buggy throughout the day.
